Rio+20

On June 20th -22nd, 2012, Brazil will host the United Nations Conference on Sustainable  Development (also known as Rio+20) that is expected to guide the international development agenda for the next decade and beyond. It will also mark 20 years since the ground breaking “Earth Summit” in Rio where world leaders first met to chart the course of sustainable development.
 
The UN Rio+20 Conference on Sustainable Development will:
 

Make important decisions affecting the future of this planet

Attract 80 heads of state and 40,000 people from 1,000 organizations

Renew political commitment for sustainable development

Assess progress and define new and emerging outcomes
